Eamonn Holmes praises Camilla for taking on royal life in 'way Diana or Meghan couldn’t'

Eamonn Holmes, 62, has revealed Camilla Parker-Bowles is his favourite member of the Royal Family and said he admires how she has taken to life as the wife of Prince Charles.

Eamonn says he favours the Duchess of Cornwall because she is “approachable, incredibly friendly” and “a darn good laugh”.

Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph, Eamonn explained: “As I keep telling her, she is my favourite royal, though I’m not sure what her husband makes of that.

“Before Catherine becomes Queen Consort, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will have the job.

“Recently endowed with the title ‘Royal Lady of the most Nobel Order of the Garter’, she has taken to royal life in a way Diana or Meghan couldn’t.”

Eamonn has met Camilla on a number of occasions.

Back in 2018, the GB News presenter broke royal protocol when he gave the Duchess a big kiss.

She and Prince Charles were visiting the This Morning ITV studios in London.

As Eamonn greeted the pair he exclaimed: “My favourite royal, how are you?” He then pulled her in for a hug and a kiss.

Eamonn also met Charles and Camilla when they toured Sky News’ headquarters in 2014.

Mr Holmes, once again, broke with protocol and gave Camilla a big hug.

The Duchess joked: “We always meet in peculiar places!”

Eamonn cheekily replied: “That’s enough of that,” and Charles quipped: “Where have you been with my wife?”

The TV presenter has also said that Camilla would be his dream interview guest.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press at the launch of This Morning Live in 2017, Eamonn said: “I’d like to have the Duchess of Cornwall on. I’d like to talk to her.

“I’d like to talk to the Duchess of Cambridge’s mum Karen Middleton and just find out about how the grandparents get on. How Will and Kate get on. Things like that.”
