Female teacher, 28, accused of ‘sexual activity’ with boy, 15, and ‘intentional touching’

Rebecca Joynes, 28, from Salford, appeared for the first time today (August 17) at Manchester Crown Court (below). She has been charged with two counts of sexual activity with a child.

The defendant wore a beige jacket, white top and black trousers to the hearing.

She confirmed her name and entered not guilty pleas for both charges.

The charges date back to October 2021 and relate to a boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Joynes allegedly “intentionally touched” the boy “not reasonably believing he was 16 or over”.

She was seen outside of the court with her parents. Her mother was was wearing a black jacket and trousers with a floral patterned blouse.

Her father touched her mother’s arm as they left the court. He wore a grey suit with pink shirt and a light coloured tie.

Manchester Crown Court is located at Crown Square on Barcroft Street in downtown Manchester.
