Pierre Gasly forced to bail as car suddenly catches fire in scary scenes at Singapore GP


Anthony Davidson was also left questioning how the fuel managed to ignite so quickly. He commented: “Maybe static in the air, we all know that can happen. That’s why they tell you not to use your mobile phone when you’re refilling at the petrol station as it can happen. 

“There are many different frequencies around these F1 tracks, anything’s possible I guess.”

Gasly was quick enough for P14 in second practice with team-mate Yuki Tsunoda only P17. The Japanese star also suffered issues after a fuel system issue was identified.
