Queen returns to Sandringham on emotional visit to privately remember Prince Philip

The monarch, 95, travelled to Norfolk by helicopter from Windsor Castle.

She is expected to stay at Wood Farm, where her beloved husband Prince Philip spent much of his retirement.

A source told the Mail on Sunday: “Everything is being put in order for the Queen’s visit.

“We’ve been told that she will stay at Wood Farm, rather than the main house, which is nice as that always had a special place in his heart.”

The Queen reportedly plans to privately remember both her late husband the Duke of Edinburgh and her father during the trip.

February 6 marks the 70th anniversary of George VI’s death.
