This Morning backlash: Holly and Phillip hit with more Ofcom complaints over ‘queue jump'

A petition to see the pair axed from the show has reached 70,000 signatures but the duo have continued to defend their actions on the day they visited the Queen’s vigil at Westminster.

Many onlookers accused them of jumping ahead of the rest of the public who queued during the ceremony, which was visited by an estimated 250,000 people.

However, support for the pair has been forthcoming with a bullish response from their boss, ITV’s CEO Dame Carolyn McCall.

The TV chief told the RTS London Convention on Monday the duo did “nothing wrong” and they were “not feeling great”, following the controversy.

Defending the presenters she declared: “They were sent by This Morning to do a piece for 20 September which ran.
