'I feel limited by race in the UK', says Homeland's David Harewood

He said British executives lack America’s “can-do attitude” to cast a black man as Prime Minister and said he has suffered anxieties over race and belonging since returning to the UK.

Speaking about moving to the US in an interview for BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs which airs today, Birmingham-born David, 56, said: “It’s strange. It almost feels I am limited by other people’s perceptions of what I can be, whereas in America I am not.”
